Sam and Football

I remember reading the Harry Potter books when I was in the third grade. Third grade was the year I read a lot of books. My teacher held a competition each year to see who could earn the most A.R. (Accelerated Reading) points over the course of the year. A.R. points were earned by reading a book and then taking a test online. I remember reading many books, and having fun doing so. I ended up coming in second with 708 A.R. points. Reading the Harry Potter series sparked my interest to read other series such as Pendragon, Eragon, The Hunger Games, and numerous other series.

Reflection
I chose this entry to be my favorite for many reasons. One, the memory of reading Harry Potter with my mom is a very fond one. Second, third grade was the year that spring boarded my reading career. Although I do not read much anymore, third grade inspired me to read for many years to come. And third, I am a competitor, and worked very hard to come in second place. I only came in second by a half a point.
